Satellite Navigation System with SSD from Sanyo

Introducing two brand new in-dash GPS navigation systems with solid state drives – the NVA-MS1280DT and NVA-MS1180DT, Sanyo turned Sat Nav system into a much meaningful device instead of the usual DVD based or hard drive based systems.

The implication of using SSD is that, the device is being made to function accurately faster at the same time it makes reading quite convenient. It has also been built such that it can withstand environmental factors such as heat and vibration.

Also, the new products can play multiple media formats, FM receiver for traffic information, and support for iPod and iPod video.

However, the two devices have some distinctive features, the NVA-MS1280D comes with a 4GB SD card plus a 4GB solid state drive while NAV-MS1180DT only features a 4GB SSD. Also NVA-MS1280DT has a DVD player and can also record audio onto the SD card.

The two products will be made available in June and will be sold at the rate of $1750 for NVA-MS1280DT and $1500 for NVA-MS1180DT.
