The Garmin nüvi 755T at a Glance

The Garmin nuvi 755T is one of the four models in the 700 series which basically resemble each other in terms of functionality but are differentiated by the type of maps and the inclusion of additional features such as an integrated Bluetooth phone interface or MSN Direct support.  This device, as well as the other models, has been designed to support Navteq traffic and this has enable Garmin to switched from Clear Channel's TTN (Total Traffic Network).

It has a dimension of 3 by 4.8 by 0.8 inches (HWD) and feature a 4.3-inch 480-by-272-pixel screen which makes it look like the 760 in physical appearance. There's an icon that links directly to the traffic menu, which let users show traffic on a map, search for traffic incidents near their current location, or, if you have an active route, check for traffic along the route. There is also the slideshow which shows the lane users should be in as they approach an exit. It also shows the actual road signs you would see as you approach major highway intersections.

Garmin has made a number of subtle tweaks to the user interface. Although not revolutionary, they show that even a well-rated UI can be improved. On the lower right-corner of the screen, there is a data field icon which enables users to display direction of travel, time of day, or elevation.  The right-hand data field can be configured to show either estimated time of arrival, distance to destination, estimated time to destination, direction of travel, elevation, or time of day. While the left data field is designed to show the current speed at which the user is travelling.

Besides the 3D landmarks to its maps embedded in the device, there is also the Garmin Connect Photos which is powered by Panoramio, this allows users to download geotagged images onto the nüvi 755T.  The device goes for $699.99 standard price in the market.
