Harris Corp. Won $60 Million Continuation Contract
Harris Corporation, an international communications and information
technology company. This contract will enable Harris Corp. to continue work
under the first-year option for the Network and Space Operations and
Maintenance (NSOM) program.
Placed at a total value of $405 million, the NSOM program contract is in two
phases; a six-month base contract and six one-year options of which Harris
was awarded the NSOM contract in January 2008, provides operations and
maintenance support to the 50th Space Wing's Air Force Satellite Control
Network (AFSCN) at locations around the world.
With its base in Colorado Springs the AFSCN is a global, continuously
operational network of ground stations, operational control nodes, and
communications links that support launch, and command and control of various
space programs managed by the Department of Defense and other national
security space organizations.
